Enjoying one of the most prominent position among European events, artistic games, Belgrade Dance Festival, and in its fourteenth edition, from 11 March to 11 April, has presented an attractive selection of titles from the world scene.
Belgrade, thanks to this festival, has become an important place in the biography of ballet artists, the city in which each April and are intertwined new and iconic dance pieces, in which gladly come ballet stars and young artists that the global criticism just announced. The significance of the event on the world map, is reflected in current affairs programs, productions that are performed at the same time in major cities of the world, and the events that the premiere of character for the wider region. Discovering contemporary dance through its latest achievements, the festival has quickly gained a large audience. So far carried out close to the top 200 most important settings choreographers of our time, while each edition, on average, accompanied by over 18,000 spectators and 120 accredited journalists from home and abroad.
Belgrade Dance Festival was developed with the support of Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, embassies and cultural centers of the participating countries, as well as the City of Belgrade. Significant investment in the affirmation of artistic dance and the implementation of programs in the cities of Vojvodina, supported by the Provincial Secretariat for Culture of Vojvodina, cities of Novi Sad, Vrsac, Pancevo ... Belgrade municipality of Stari Grad on whose territory it operates Festival, the first edition recognizes the event as an important initiative in culture. At the very beginning, the Festival has won the Fund Jelena Santic, a UNESCO declared it a leading dance projects in Southeastern Europe (2006), followed by a reception at the World Dance Alliance. In 2011, the festival was organized under the auspices of the President of the Republic, and won the "Star of Belgrade" by the Agency for European Integration. German newspaper BalletTanz, marked the 2012 Belgrade Dance Festival as "most representative dance event of the continent" and "dance trendsetters". In 2013, presents the monograph "Decadance - the 10th anniversary of Belgrade Dance Festival" published by the Official Gazette.
For three years in a row, Belgrade Dance Festival is organized in cooperation with the EU Delegation in Serbia, while its twelfth edition held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia.
